The countdown is on to the 2024 Pig and Poultry conference at the NEC Birmingham, and the team at Livetec are working hard to be ready for a PACKED schedule.
Join us to witness the future of biosecurity firsthand on stand 12-250 or during our keynote presentation, “Building the future of livestock protection: biosecurity in your hands“. Led by Julian Sparrey, Livetec’s Technical Director, this fantastic session will take place at 11am in the Innovation Theatre on both days.
Disease outbreak: a personal testimony
Joining Julian on stage will be James Baxter, Chairman of BFREPA and Scottish egg producer, who will share his firsthand experience navigating an avian influenza outbreak in 2023, in the height of a record breaking season for cases of bird flu.
James will recount his journey from the initial shock of diagnosis to the invaluable support provided by Livetec’s Contingency Plan, which saved him well over £45,000.
“Building the future of livestock protection: biosecurity in your hands” will delve into the devastating impact of diseases like avian influenza and salmonella on the UK’s poultry farms, while offering actionable insights on implementing robust biosecurity standards. Julian will also underscore how Livetec’s new, innovative platform will facilitate the adoption of the highest biosecurity standards with unprecedented ease and accessibility.
Julian will also shed light on the invaluable lessons learned from past outbreaks, and how these lessons could help us to prepare for other looming threats such as African swine fever, which continues to surface across Europe.
Don’t miss the opportunity to learn how, together, we can build the future livestock protection! Join us at the Innovation Theatre at 11am on May 15th and 16th for an enlightening session that promises to redefine industry standards.

Want to find out more about African swine fever? Julian will also be joining the AHDB for “Keeping ASF out: What does the ASF contingency plan look like and how can you play your part in protecting the national herd?” at 12:30pm in the Pig Theatre both days.
