End of Year Reflections and Looking Ahead to 2025

From Gordon Samet, Managing Director

As we approach the Christmas season and the close of 2024, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what has been an exceptional year for Livetec. From inspiring industry events to transformative internal growth, this year has been defined by progress, collaboration, and innovation.

Celebrating Industry Engagement

One of the highlights of the year was our time at industry events Pig & Poultry, BFREPA and EPIC, where we reconnected with existing customers and engaged with some of the brightest minds in the poultry and egg production sectors. These events reinforced the shared commitment within our industry to improve systems, champion animal welfare, and drive innovation.

Strengthening Partnerships and Delivering Innovation

Our partnership with the British Poultry Council (BPC) has been a cornerstone of our work this year. Through the BPC Club, we’ve provided members with access to Livetec’s Livestock Protect platform and introduced the cutting-edge eBAS digital biosecurity tool. This partnership represents our shared commitment to future development and operational efficiency. As we step into 2025 we will see this platform rolled out to over 1200 poultry farms across the UK.

Additionally, we’ve delivered the first pilot workshop in partnership with AHDB, focusing on African Swine Fever (ASF) Preparedness, further demonstrating our dedication to safeguarding UK livestock.

A Transformative Year for the Livetec Team

I draw immense inspiration from our team’s dedication and accomplishments this year. Livetec has taken significant strides in transforming from the leader in on-farm depopulation services to becoming the UK’s foremost provider of digital biosecurity management solutions.

Our team’s commitment to improvement—across processes, customer engagement, and product development—reflects our core values of being empowered, accountable, straightforward, and respectful.

Some of our highlights include:

  • Delivering our biosecurity advisory service and contingency plans face to face with our customers and translating this biosecurity assessment framework into a digital tool.
  • Preparing to launch our Livestock Protect platform in early 2025, following successful testing and development with early adopters Avara Foods LTD, Aviagen, Hook2Sisters, PD Hook (Hatcheries) LTD, and Moy Park.
  • Delivered a keynote presentation at an HSA seminar on animal welfare during transport and slaughter.
  • Shared our experience of managing and being prepared for AI in the UK with an international audience at the lessons learned in farmed animal depopulation workshop in Toronto, Canada.

Looking to 2025

Next year promises to be even more exciting as we expand our reach internationally, sharing our expertise with poultry producers in Australia and New Zealand, where preparedness against AI outbreaks is increasingly critical.

Our mission for 2025 is clear, we’re striving to be a company people are proud to work for and partner with. As a growing, resilient business, we will continue providing a comprehensive suite of digital contingency and biosecurity solutions for the UK poultry and pig sectors, while also streamlining our emergency depopulation services.

Thank You and Season’s Greetings

As we celebrate the achievements of 2024, we also extend our gratitude to our customers, partners, and team members for their continued trust and collaboration.

Together, we’re shaping a future of resilience, innovation, and sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

Here’s to a prosperous and impactful 2025. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
