Biosecurity Adviser Amy Davies shortlisted for Training and Education Woman of the Year at the 2025 National Women in Agriculture Awards!

Amy Davies, Biosecurity Advisor

We are incredibly proud to share that Amy has been shortlisted for the Training and Education Woman of the Year award at the 2025 National Women in Agriculture Awards! This prestigious event recognises women who are making a significant impact in the agricultural sector through innovation, education, and leadership.

A passion for Training and Biosecurity

As a Biosecurity Adviser at Livetec Systems Limited, Amy plays a pivotal role in equipping farmers and producers with the knowledge and tools needed to implement strong biosecurity measures, protect animal welfare, and enhance the sustainability of farming operations.

Her work is particularly focused on education and training, where she develops and delivers specialist biosecurity courses tailored to the poultry and pig industries. From e-learning programmes and on-site training sessions to accredited biosecurity courses, Amy ensures that farmers, producers, and industry professionals receive the most up-to-date and practical knowledge to safeguard their operations against disease threats.

Her passion for education extends beyond Livetec, as she has worked closely with organisations like AHDB, Poultec, and RSPCA Assured to ensure training meets industry standards and provides real value to those on the ground.

Leading innovation in agricultural training

Amy has spearheaded several initiatives designed to enhance learning and improve biosecurity awareness across the agricultural sector, including:

  •  On-Farm Training and Workshops – Hands-on sessions tailored to the needs of farmers and producers, delivered in collaboration with industry leaders such as AHDB.
  • Digital Masterclasses and Webinars – Engaging online sessions, including a Farmers Weekly Webinar Mini Masterclass, allowing farmers to learn best practices remotely.
  • Accredited Biosecurity Courses – Playing a key role in developing online biosecurity training programmes currently under review for accreditation, ensuring they provide industry-recognised certification.

Her ability to bridge generational learning gaps—by creating both digital training tools for younger, tech-savvy farmers and hands-on workshops for those preferring practical learning—demonstrates her commitment to making biosecurity education accessible to all.

Making a lasting impact

Amy’s dedication to training has had a measurable impact on those she works with. Farmers and industry professionals have praised her ability to deliver complex information in an engaging, accessible way, ensuring biosecurity measures are understood and effectively implemented.

“Amy has been a breath of fresh air in giving us confidence and guidance in all aspects of managing biosecurity and the risks associated with disease management on our farms.”
– Stuart Laws, Estate Director, Uphouse Farm Ltd

Her passion for protecting both animal welfare and the livelihoods of those in the agricultural sector is evident in everything she does.

A well-deserved recognition

Amy shared her excitement about being recognised for this award:

“I am incredibly honoured to be a finalist for this award. As a woman in farming, I am proud to contribute to an industry that is evolving and embracing innovation. My passion lies in equipping farmers with the knowledge and tools they need to enhance biosecurity, protect their flocks, and future-proof their businesses. Seeing the positive impact of my work—whether through training, advisory services, or digital innovation—is truly rewarding. Being recognised for these efforts reinforces my commitment to supporting and empowering those who care for our livestock every day, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable future for agriculture.”

Being shortlisted for the Training and Education Woman of the Year award is a well-earned recognition of Amy’s hard work, expertise, and commitment to improving biosecurity and education within the agricultural industry.
