Near Penrith, Cumbria

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Penrith, Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria. This was a commercial flock with more than 10,000 birds. A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone have been declared around the premises.
